Abstract: Digital Sympathectomy at the Time of Fasciectomy for Dupuytren’s Contracture
نویسندگان
چکیده
CASE REPORT: A 78-year-old, right-handed male who is a retired laborer was diagnosed with Dupuytren’s contracture involving the right long finger. The metacarpophalangeal joint and the proximal interphalangeal joint of the long finger were contracted in approximately 85 and 60 degrees of flexion, respectively. A standard open fasciectomy involving the palm and the long finger was performed under tourniquet. Prior to closure, a Jeweler forceps was used to carefully dissect off 1 cm of adventitia from each of the digital arteries supplying the long finger. At the end of the case, with the long finger in near full extension, the digit appeared pink and without evidence of vasospasm immediately following deflation of the tourniquet. At time of 1-month follow-up, the patient had a favorable outcome without complication.

Palmar fasciectomy after collagenase Clostridium histolyticum injection for Dupuytren’s contracture: A case report.
We present a case of successful salvage fasciectomy after initial collagenase Clostridium histolyticum (CCH) injection for the treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture. We did not find any remarkable scarring around the Dupuytren’s cord and nodule three and a half years after the initial CCH injection. Pathological findings revealed the previously ruptured cord and partial continuity of the collage...

Background. A priority in hand therapy following Dupuytren’s fasciectomy is to regain and maintain extension of the proximal interphalangeal joint (PIPJ). Historically this has been achieved through the application of mechanical stress to the affected digit with splinting and exercise. However, loss of a normal pattern of digital flexion in both the operated and non-operated digits is a common ...

The influence of Dupuytren's disease fingers contracture degree on surgical treatment outcome.
Background/Aim Dupuytren’s disease is a progressive disease of the palmar and digital fascial structures, with functional limitations. There are no clear recommendations about the optimal time of surgical repair, concerning the hand impairment. The aim of our study was to investigate the relation between finger’s contracture degree and success of surgical treatment of the Dupuytren's disease. ...
